Yay! We arrived in Pasadena on the evening of July 27th and slept on the floor of my parents’ hotel room on our air mattress, since we didn’t move anything into the apartment yet. We slept pretty hard that night, which was the refreshment we needed to unload and unpack the next day…
For our moving in process, Jon and I hired two movers to help haul the heavy stuff upstairs to our apartment. Not only did they help, they told us not to carry anything else – they’d finish! The non-English speaking mover at one time was carrying three huge boxes lined up his back like a packhorse. My mom called him the “human dolly.”
